Bar Le Grillon

Perfect service, atmosphere and food!

A rather unpleasant experience at this café/restaurant. My mother and I arrived around 4 pm; I wanted a coffee and she was craving a Belgian hot chocolate. A waiter came to take our order, but before I even had a chance to answer, he'd gone outside to chat with his colleague. Another waiter took over and informed us that they only had Belgian coffees but no Belgian hot chocolate (strange, as they usually go together), so my mother didn't order anything. And as for my coffee, it was served in a dirty, sticky cup… all for €2.30 a coffee. In short, avoid it.

A charming old-world restaurant where you can eat well at a reasonable price. Fast and friendly service. Excellent.

Great location, terrace, food, atmosphere... But the waiters are always uptight and unfriendly... And they take forever to serve you. What a shame.

Servers running around during the rush but remaining polite is fantastic. Affordable and generous portions, no complaints!

For many, it's known as Les Deux Garçons. For me, Le Grillon is simply Aix-en-Provence. It's an iconic café, a true institution, where locals have gathered for generations. People come as much for its history as for its exceptional location on the Cours Mirabeau. The interior is magnificent, steeped in history, and the terrace is one of the best spots to watch Aix go by. The service is top-notch, the food is excellent, the desserts are delicious, and the prices remain very reasonable, which is rare enough these days to be worth mentioning. Le Grillon isn't just a café or a brasserie; it's a part of the soul of Aix. A place that transcends generations without losing its authenticity. Every time we're in Aix, we return with the same pleasure. A must-visit!

First night in France and on the recommendation of our host walked to this restaurant after a long train ride from Italy. The town comes alive at night in the summer under the stars I had one of the most legit filet au poivre followed by a fresh berry pavlova dreams are made of. We will be back!
